Canterbury Christmas Carols
on the British Pullman
Tuesday 11th and 18th December 2012
Canterbury, home to England’s most renowned place of worship, the beautiful Cathedral, offers the perfect destination to recapture the true sentiment behind Christmas festivities.
The British Pullman carriages of the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express originally ran on legendary 1920s services such as The Brighton Belle and Golden Arrow.
Today, each one has been restored to its former glory, giving you and your loved ones the experience of a lifetime.
Your journey takes you to the ancient city of Canterbury. A delicious brunch will be served on the outward journey. On arrival at Canterbury you will be met by guides who will escort you to the Cathedral to listen to the Canterbury singers as they perform for you in a candle-lit crypt before stepping out for a spot of Christmas retail therapy in the delightful city.
A glass of chilled champagne is served as soon as you re-board the train for the return journey to London. This is followed by a four-course dinner accompanied by half a bottle of red or white.
What to wear: Smart daywear is appropriate; please do not wear jeans or trainers. Do remember to wear sensible shoes as you will be outside for part of your time in Canterbury.
Access: This journey is suitable for passengers with access needs, but not for those who cannot walk very far.
Timings: The train departs from London Victoria at 09:40 and returns at 19:30.
Price per person: 395.00
