March at the National Maritime Museum Cornwall
Explore the Landscapes of Fishing

This month sees the launch of a powerful new photographic exhibition by the internationally renowned photo-journalist Vince Bevan.  The Landscapes of Fishing exhibition, which opens on 29 March, portrays the richness and diversity of inshore fishing in the southern North Sea and the English Channel.

Fishing provides a livelihood for those involved in the industry, but is also important for the contribution it makes to heritage and identity.  The photographs offer a poignant reminder of an industry struggling to survive against a backdrop of strict regulation and quota restrictions.

Regardless of all its current challenges, this historic profession continues to contribute to the character and identity of coastal communities across Europe, for the benefit of residents and tourists alike.

As well as this new exhibition there’s lots more happening this month at the Maritime Museum.
