Prince Harry reveals he ‘loves’ comics in conversation with Falklands veteran cartoonist Will Kevans from West Wales

Falklands veteran Will Kevans, 51 from West Wales met Prince Harry after a surprise visit from the Prince on Thursday 6th November at St Margaret’s Church Westminster where he was taking part in the Amy Arts Society’ ‘Going to War’ Exhibition. Prince Harry was very keen on Will Kevans’s cartoon showing the QEII arriving at Grytviken in South Georgia and 2 Para at Goose Green, saying it was “really good”.

Will Kevans showed the Prince his graphic novel/comic. The Prince asked him if he’d done the drawings from memory and the cartoonist told him it had taken him two and a half years.

Prince Harry told Will that he didn’t usually read books but that he loved comics and he thought the cartoons were really great.

The Prince asked Will how much the artwork was to buy and Will told him “£150 but I can do you a special discount” which made the Prince laugh.

Will Kevans’s work will be shown again with the Army Arts Society in Salisbury from Saturday 15th to Saturday 29th November 2014. Please click on the following link for further information and images
