Launch event – Star Shell Reflections 1916
War! Hellish War! Star Shell Reflections 1916–1918 – The Illustrated Diaries of Jim Maultsaid.

Donegal County Museum will host an evening with Barbara McClune and Richard Docherty this Friday, 26 August from 7.30pm to officially launch the second volume of Jim Maultsaid’s WW1 diaries. More details of the event can be found via www.1914.org.

Jim Maultsaid’s illustrated diaries of his Great War service offer a unique and completely original perspective of a fighting man’s experiences. Although an American citizen, Maultsaid was living in Donegal in 1914 and first joined the Young Citizens Volunteers and then the British Army.

Volume 1: Star Shell Reflections 1914-1916 is also available.
