Today is the 50th anniversary of Yuri Gagarin’s pioneering flight into space. ESA is celebrating these five decades of human spaceflight with a collection of articles, videos and interviews.
For the first time in 20 years, rock legends FRANCIS ROSSI, RICK PARFITT and their band STATUS QUO, comprising keyboard player ANDREW BOWN JOHN ‘RHINO’ EDWARDS (bass) and MATT LETLEY (drums), will be performing on stage on the Isle of Wight at a very special one-night-only concert in Cowes Yacht Haven on Wednesday 3rd August.
Quo are appearing at the inaugural Rockin’ the Dock gig taking place on the stage in Cowes Yacht Haven. The band will perform a full 1.5 hrs set featuring a selection of their famous hits and new material from their latest album.

New video history to commemorate the 50th anniversary tomorrow April 12 of the first space flight by Flight major Yuri Gagarin.
WASHINGTON — Comic strip artist Brian Basset has created a drawing depicting his characters, Red and Rover, racing alongside the space shuttle as it lands for the final time. After 30 years and more than 130 missions, NASA’s space shuttle fleet will retire later this year.
