David Bowie rare out-take from Aladdin Sane
In 1973, photographer Brian Duffy was shooting David Bowie for the cover of his album “Aladdin Sane” when inspiration struck. Duffy showed Bowie a Panasonic rice cooker his mother had given him; its logo was a red flash. He then took a red lipstick and drew the now famous lightning bolt across Bowie’s face. When Duffy asked Bowie what the album was to be called, Bowie replied “A Lad Insane”. Duffy misunderstood and Aladdin Sane was born.

FOYLE YOUNG POETS OF THE YEAR AWARD | OPEN FOR ENTRIES
On Monday the 11th March 2013 the Foyle Young Poets of the Year Award opens for entries. The prize is for young writers from across the world who have until the 31st of July 2013 to enter. Last year’s competition attracted entries from a staggering 7,351 young people from 60 countries worldwide, making it one of the largest literary competitions in the world.

Sailing TV Production specialist Sunset+Vine APP’s roster has included some of the world’s most well-known sailing events – the Volvo Ocean Race; America’s Cup and ISAF World Sailing Championships 2011. It is Host Broadcaster of the Extreme Sailing Series; JP Morgan Round the Island Race [sailing’s London Marathon]; as well as the Television Partner of Oman Sail. It was the only independent production company to be selected by the BBC to assist the corporation in its sailing coverage of London 2012 Olympics.
