A very nicely presented history of one of the greatest airports in the world, its challenges and its prospects. The author has provided a comprehensive history of London Heathrow which is also a history of post-war air transport development – Highly Recommended
A well argued alternative history of the North African Campaign. The author has researched the critical battle and the path from there in an interesting alternative approach – Highly Recommended
One of the mysteries of the Cold War is why the Americans in Vietnam ignored the pioneering tactics earlier employed successfully by the British in securing victory against Communist aggression. The author has followed the pioneering tactics in relation to exploiting the potential of VTOL aircraft in counter-insurgency actions – Very Highly Recommended
Poland has suffered a turbulent history but recent history began in 1919 and turbulence continues. The author has provided a sympathetic review of recent Polish history that has not been covered in this way before in an English language publication – Very Highly Recommended
Oliver Cromwell and Charles I are probably the best known characters of the English Civil War. The author has provided a very engaging account of the life and times of Oliver Cromwell, supported by illustration in a photo-plate section – Very Highly Recommended
This addition, to what has become a very popular series, looks at Poole during the Great War. The publishers have developed a very strong following for this series where locals naturally have an interest in their town or city, but where the series is proving very attractive to military history enthusiasts and historians – Very Highly Recommended
This is one of those books where the the most effective review is “WOW!!!”. The late John Lambert was a prolific technical illustrator who was highly regarded for the quality of his work and knowledge of naval vessels and weapons. The publishers have secured his extensive library of plans, many never before published, and are now releasing a series of books based on the images. This will be warmly welcomed by warship modellers and naval historians, but should be widely read and enjoyed by everyone with any interest in warships and their weapons – Most Highly Recommended
After an epic 56 year period of research, the heavyweight history of the Bismark must be the definitive book on this subject. This beautifully produced book, with its fabulous selection of photographs, charts and drawings is not to be missed – Most Highly Recommended
